€30 million investment in omnichannel and lower prices for more than 750 products in FY24 

Record turnover of 1.2 billion euro for IKEA Belgium

Zaventem, 12 October 2023 - Despite the ongoing challenges posed by inflation and high energy prices, IKEA Belgium has achieved a record operational turnover of €1.208 billion for its fiscal year 2023. This marks a 16% increase in turnover compared to the previous year's €1.037 billion. This impressive double-digit increase is among others the result of various investments in the omnichannel customer experience. The coming year, a smooth and effortless omnichannel customer experience remains a key focus for IKEA Belgium with a €30 million investment, as will kitchens and storage solutions as growth drivers. On top of that, IKEA Belgium is lowering the prices of over 750 products, mainly across its most affordable range.

Zaventem, September 13th 2023 - IKEA announces an extended recall for repair action of certain LETTAN mirrors due to breaking wall fittings. IKEA urges all customers who own an affected LETTAN mirror to stop using it and to order replacement wall fittings free of charge.

IKEA develops its products using a rigorous risk assessment and testing program, to make sure that the products live up to all applicable laws and standards on the markets where they are sold. Despite this it has come to our attention that some of the fittings that attach LETTAN mirrors to the wall have been breaking. This has in turn led to some mirrors unexpectedly falling.

Arlon, 14 July 2023 - The new extension dedicated to Click & Collect and home deliveries at IKEA Arlon has been completed. It meets customers' ever-growing demand for online shopping. With this investment of over €5 million, IKEA Belgium continues to invest sustainably in the Arlon and Luxembourg region. The extension also aims to improve the working environment for its co-workers and delivery partners. 

IKEA Arlon expands and opens new Click & Collect area   

Zaventem, April 19, 2023 – Today IKEA Belgium signs Brussels Environment and Brussels Mobility’s Green Deal agreement for low-emission logistics, in the presence of Ministers Alain Maron, Elke Van den Brandt and State Secretary Barbara Trachte. With this Green Deal, IKEA Belgium commits to making all its home deliveries CO2 neutral by 2025. To this end, IKEA Belgium will cooperate with transport suppliers VPD and Arid, with each party investing in electric vehicles. The charging infrastructure at the 8 Belgian stores and the IKEA distribution center will also be significantly expanded in cooperation with Allego - an expansion that employees and customers can also use. With this initiative, IKEA Belgium aims to contribute to greener consumption, better air quality in the capital, and more accessible green mobility.

IKEA Belgium signs for 100% emission-free home deliveries by 2025

The full electrification of home deliveries, also called "last mile deliveries," on a large scale will occur in several steps: this year IKEA Belgium targets 40% of all deliveries, 85% in 2024 and 100% in 2025. For this transition, IKEA Belgium is working with logistics partners VPD and Arid, who will increase their investments in electric vehicles. To accelerate the transition, IKEA Belgium itself is also investing in its own electric vehicles: 85 vehicles will be added by 2025. Together with its partners' vehicles, IKEA Belgium will have a fleet of at least 140 electric vehicles by 2025.
